Requirements:
• Minimum of grade 12.
• Proven work & management experience essential.
• Ability to work with and cut all meat species, produce sausage, and minced products.
• Proven track record of efficiently managing a department’s gross profit and selling prices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with suppliers, staff, and customers.
• Experience within the Spar environment is preferred but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage all day-to-day operational details of the butchery department.
• Managing department operations.
• Proficiently work with and cut all meat species (beef, pork, lamb, chicken).
• Run the department efficiently, managing gross profit and selling prices of all products.
• Coordinate with suppliers, place orders, and manage stock through weekly and monthly
stock takes.
• Provide regular sales and profit feedback directly to the owner of the business.
• Supervise and lead a team of staff members, ensuring high performance and adherence to
standards.
• Maintain exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards within the department.
